Learning Networks

I am a lawyer who decided to venture into education when I came to live in the United States, Texas, nine years ago.

Therefore my foray into education is new, but I have tried to have a network that helps me understand the education system of this country and state since even in education, it has many methods and strategies different from what I learned in my country. I initially had to study and create study groups with different professionals who were in the same process in order to pass the tests required by the TEA before obtaining teacher certification.

One of the groups to which I belong, and we have helped each other a lot are:

A group that supports and guides how to run the classes and how to carry out this activity.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/whatihavelearnedteaching This is an extraordinary group, as it teaches through the experience of others.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1531292443668278 This is a group that guides teachers who want to teach Spanish as a second language.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/557081354821469 A group that provides resources and material to be successful in the EC-6 test

Teachers recounting experiences and sharing resources in English and Spanish.

I like reading and updating on Twitter @NellyR5th because there is short and beneficial news about the school district I work for, and they share new resources and guides there.

I also have some personal study groups or people with whom I have shared experiences and knowledge through zoom, and we constantly update ourselves.

The best learning experiences I had in the seven years that I was a long-term substitute; whenever I went to a new school for a school year, I acquired new ideas, methods, and resources, which have facilitated my performance as a teacher.
